R.W. Patrick and family papers, 1803-1918 (bulk 1845-1900).

Early papers consist of deeds, land sales and indentures of the Patrick family of New York State. Financial papers primarily consist of tax receipts (1845-1900). Additional financial papers dating after 1870 include receipts and letters of James E. Nash, acting on behalf of his mother-in-law Emeline Patrick and her farming interests. Manuscript volumes include: the journal (1834-1866) of R. W. Patrick, containing his business accounts and also receipts and records of his wife, Emeline; the Civil War diary of Robert D. Patrick, which he kept in shorthand; a memorandum book containing various and unrelated notes; and notebooks containing excerpts transcribed from the diaries (1886-1902) of Jay Nash. Nash describes the weather, visits by neighbors to the family's plantation, and recreational activities.
